Hi, all,
once again thanks for all the postive messages, thoughts and prayers towards Simone - I've just talked to her over the phone and read your messages to her, and she was touched once more with all the kindness this board always share...
Her exam was yesterday late afternoon, and since after the exam she had to be in recovery for 6 hours, just today I got to talk to her and learn the news.
She is still in hospital, since the doctor decided already to keep her there - the surgery is scheduled for tomorrow (Friday, Apr, 11th). They still had not set the specific time for the surgery, but it will start probably still in the morning. The duration of the surgery should be about 4 hours. After that, she will spend at least one day in the ICU and another 3 days in hospital, before having to spend another week resting at home.
She is being very positive and is just anxious to get over the surgery and be able to get on with her daily routine. She asked me to thank you all again and say that tomorrow is "THE" day to concentrate all the prayers and positive vibes...
Thanks for making us really feel as part of this virtual plateau family, and by Saturday I hope to have good news to share about TowandaBR's surgery in this board... Until then, it's patient waiting and lots of prayers and good vibes going TowandaBR's way!
Warm regards,
Cristina (Lady Cris Krux) _________________ "Sometimes, when I think about what my life has given me, here and now, I wonder what more I could possibly ask for..." - Marguerite (The Lost World - Season 3 - Episode "True Spirit")

Hi, all,
a very quick update because the hotel I'm in since Friday has no internet access and I'm in a public internet cafe just to send you the latest news...
Due to a bureaucratic problem, Simone's surgery had to be postponed. Depending on the paperwork approval, it will happen next Tuesday (Apr, 15th) or next Friday (Apr, 18th).
I've talked to her over the phone, and she is feeling fine, except that she is very frustrated and anxious with this unexpected delay on the surgery.
Let's hope the bureaucracy gets solved ASAP for her surgery to be done sooner than later.
She asked me to thank you all again and to ask you continue praying and sending her positive thoughts and vibes.
As soon as I get more news I will come to share them with you all!
Thanks again for your generosity in cheering Simone up - I've been sharing your messages with her and that has such a marvelous and positive outcome!
Warmest regards,

*crosses fingers that the bureaucrats will push the paperwork through now...
Bummer deal man. Here's hoping they'll get this all cleared up and get her taken care of. Still sending positive vibes and hugs her way! _________________ I like corny. I'm looking for corny in my life. - Iris - The Holiday

Oh, so they have red tape in Brazil, too, huh? <sigh> Well, we'll just keep those good thoughts and vibes going strongly. _________________ "Cats are like potato chips... it's hard to have just one."

Why is it that they always seem to put the patient's health behind all the paperwork? Hopefully, they get everything cleared up and she can get the surgery soon.
Here's more good thoughts and prayers headed south.

My friends,
what a challenging time for TowandaBR.
I've just talked to her over the phone. She still has not gone under surgery today. The machine needed to follow the procedure during the surgery broke yesterday.
Now, her alternative is go to Rio, where there is another hospital that is authorized to perform this surgery on her. She will fly to there tomorrow or Thursday to talk to the doctors there.
It was interesting to read about your interjections on the bureaucracy - you know, we in 3rd world countries tend to think that things in terms of medical care are much easier in 1st world countries, but based on your comments I would say bureaucracy can find its ways everywhere...
Simone is fine - she does not feel anything, has absolutely no sympthoms aneurysma-related. She is just really very anxious to get this all sorted out, to go through surgery and finally be able to resume her routine...
I've read your messages to her and again she thanked you and asked to keep those prayers, thoughts and good vibes up for her.
As soon as I have further news I will keep you posted.
Thanks once more for all your generosity in sharing these difficult times by our side!
Warmest regards,

Tell Simone that I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers. I hope she can have the surgery soon and then be on her way to a speedy recovery.

It's scheduled!
Simone will go to hospital this Friday morning, and her surgery is scheduled to start by Friday early evening. What means it will probably finish around midnight, and I will just have news Saturday to pass on to you...
So, Simone asked me two things, and I'm passing them on as she said them:
- to pray that the surgery is not postponed again
- to pray that everything actually goes well during the surgery
I promised her I would pray for the two things, and decided to share that with you as well.
Hopefully by Saturday she will be in a different phase of the treatment!
Thanks again and please keep those prayers, good thoughts and positive vibes directed to Brazil, to reach Simone...
Best regards,

*sending those good thoughts and vibes that the surgery is not postponded AND goes well, that TowandaRB heals quickly and without any problems
As for "red tape" it happens everywhere sadly. You'd think when someone's health is on the line, it wouldn't cause so much drama. _________________ I like corny. I'm looking for corny in my life. - Iris - The Holiday

| My mother had an aortal aneurysm. She was scheduled for surgery, shaved, wheeled into the operating room, then surgery was cancelled. This happened three days in a row, then the PTB sent her home. she never had the surgery but lived until age 86, some thirty years later. I pray that everything goes OK.
