Prairie Gal: I would certainly do the same your mother did! If they had cancelled it 3 days in a row, I would just give up and believe it was not meant to be to have the surgery. Although, in my case, it would contribute a lot the fact that I'm a complete chicken and absolutely terrified of doctors and surgeries myself...
Good news: I've just spoken to Simone's older sister over the phone. The surgery went well and finished close to midnight yesterday (Friday). Simone is in the ICU until tomorrow, when she will then be moved to a normal room in the hospital.
According to her sister, they still had not seem Simone (you can't visit in the ICU) but the doctor said the surgery went well and that Simone was talking and moving and alrigth after the anesthesia was over.
We will only have more details once her family can really talk to her, but that will be sometime tomorrow / Monday.
For now, I would like to thank you again for the prayers - the surgery happened and it was successful. And ask you to still keep your prayers, positive thoughts and good vibes directed to Simone for now a complete and speed recovery...
Have a great weekend you all!!

Thanks for letting us know.

Latest updates...
I've just talked to Simone herself - and this makes a huge difference, because you can hear in her voice how she is really feeling.
She left the ICU Sunday late night; today she is still in hospital, but is scheduled to go home by the end of day. She still has a light head-ache, but according to the doctor, that's the minimum expected after the surgery.
She explained to me that she stayed longer in the ICU because during the surgery the aneurysm started to burst - she was VERY LUCKY to be in surgery when that happened, so the doctors could easily control the bleeding without additional damage. The extra time in the ICU was preventive to control the edema that inevitably formed due to that.
But she is well, had already walked around the corridors in the hospital, and was counting down to go back home later on today and eat her mom's chicken soup! She will probably be in "resting mode" until the end of next week, and we still don't know what the doctors will recommend her to do/not to do in this post-surgery period. For now, she has to take several medicines to prevent convulsions and similar counter-effects of the surgery.
Of course I feel imensely relieved by listening to her voice well and cheerful on the other side of the phone line, so thanks again from my part and from Simone's part for all your prayers, thoughts and positive vibes! Your generosity ALWAYS amaze me, and certainly seeing the messages in this board helped not only Simone but also myself in going through this anxious times...
Hopefully, the next message in this thread will be from Simone herself!!!
Best regards,

Yay! Love good news! So wonderful to hear that Simone will be heading home already. And indeed, how very fortunate she was in the right place at the right time! We'll look forward to hearing from Simone herself, but tell her to take care of herself. _________________ "Cats are like potato chips... it's hard to have just one."

Glad to hear Simone is doing so well all things considered. Tell her to take it easy and not to worry, we'll still be here when she's fully recovered.

AAAAAHHHHH!!!!! I AM BACK!!!!! AAAAAHHHHH!!!!!
After one month I am back. The name of the surgery is embolization and is something amazing. My recovery has been excellent and now I have 12 coils and a stent (another kind of coil) in my head.
I am returning to my routine with joy and happiness. The blessings I have been receiving are wonderful.
Believe me. Prayers and good thoughts really get to their destination. You don’t imagine how important it has been to me. I cried a little because of the problem, and I have been crying a lot moved by all manifestations of tenderness.
To all TLW family my most sincere and humble thankfulness. From the bottom of my heart.
Kisses and hugs to all of you,
Simone
