Saw this ep yesterday, wasn't too impressed. Seemed like the Rennisance festival was in town, let's throw the show in it.

That said, there were some very funny parts. Roxton and Ned having to get a tooth from a t-rex in exchange for Veronica's life. Ned- "why don't I get a sword?"
Roxton- "you're my squire."

And when Ned had Roxton throw the sword to him so he could pry rocks from the cliff to fall on top of the T-Rex, as Roxton is trapped by a very hungry dino. His efforts only produce a single rock that falls to Roxton's feet. "Is that it?!" Luckily the next try produced a better outcome and the "dragon" was slayed.

Marguerite had some very funny lines with the boy king who was having a very bad hair day. Sorry, can't remember them word for word. I do remember her remarking her wedding dress should be off white. Laughing

Back at the tree house, all are laying around exhausted from their time in Camelot. Challenger and Summerlee return from their outing. Summerlee thinks his outing to retrieve a rare orchid was exciting. He and Challenger ask the others what they have been doing with their time besides laying about and making a mess. When they tell of their adventures in Chamelot, Challenger and Summerlee essentially say, "yeah, right".

So for me it wasn't rocket science, but it was entertaining.

Yeah that ep seemed like a filler Rolling Eyes . It had nothing to do with anything. The only thing tying it to the lost world was the trex. But even then, both time periods felt different, like they didn't belong, even if the villagers thought it was a dragon.

But it was enjoyable...Ned gets to slay a trex and wasn't there a dual between roxton and the king er someone?

Another part that I thought was funny was when that bad guy started to do that rediculous laugh when veronica and malone told the king that he was trying to take over the kingdom, I loved that Laughing Laughing although I just loved this episode, how come you weren't to crazy about it? Confused

I think it was one of the best epiodes in S1. For me it was entertaining and there were some very romantic scences. I like the one when Marguerite got hurt ant Roxton took her in his arms... Very Happy

I really liked this ep for many reasons, among them the fact that I love that moment in history. It's a place where fact combined with fiction makes for a wonderful fantasy -- and isn't that what TLW is all about? Very Happy

5 good things about Camelot

5. Ugo and Voldred doing their comedy shtick
4. Ned getting to rescue Roxton
3. Roxton on horseback and engaged in swordplay. Nuff said.
2. Marguerite showing a compassionate, protective side. Who knew?
1. Roxton holding Marguerite in his arms as she slips into unconsciousness. What romantic soul could remain unstirred?

0. Oops, I should have made it 6. The final scene as they all laze about sipping brandy and complimenting each other as they tell Challenger and Summerlee about their adventure. It was nice to see that the 'one big happy family' could actually get along... for a while.

We see what Marguerite packs for a jungle trek.. silk combinations and silver candle sticks. The lady has class. We again see Ned's ability to pick locks (the first time was in More Than Human).

Santa Crux, I agree about Ned being clever... though only a humble squire LOL.

We see Ned and Roxton smoking (it's not a highlight.. but it is interesting).

Voldred says to Ugo, " I would cut out your tongue if didn't need it to lick my boots." [something like it, very funny.]

And yes, Roxton on horseback. mmm.

Just didnt' like the Chamelot theme, but like I said, many entertaining parts.

And I also likes the idea of "the dragon" being a T-Rex. Which is actually historically correct ... Back in the days of Camelot, when dinosaur bones were found, it was believed they were the bones of living dragons ...

... and anytime you can get Marguerite out of her jodhpurs and into not one but two beautiful gowns it's always a plus!

I just finished rewatching this and it has always been one of my favorites. My only frustration was the lack of Summerlee and Challenger. On the other hand, their absence allowed more time for the others.

I loved how Malone saved Roxton. Although it was almost by accident, he did think to drop the rocks on the T-rex, so I am counting it as a full save. Malone's humor was in fine form. Even though the camera wasn't on his face, he obviously pulled a great face while Hugo (?) laughed as they were going off to face the T-rex. I also loved the 'squire-knight exchange"

Veronica was so protective in this episode. In the first scene, surrounded by four men with swords and staffs, she pulls a small knife. I also enjoyed her clumsy "seduction" scene. I think it is interesting to contrast Veronica's attempts with similar Marguerite scenes. Marguerite's use of sex to distract men was more subtle (remember Birthright and Prophecy). Veronica's over-the-top come ons betrayed her lack of experience.

I suppose it is because she witnessed what happened, but Veronica uncharacteristically did not blame Marguerite for her predicament. Roxton was the only person to really blast Marguerite. Although Roxton was heroic, he wasn't the main hero in this episode. Malone killed the t-rex and Veronica was the most insistant on saving Marguerite. I enjoyed the fact that all the characters got an almost equal chance to shine.

Marguerite was predictably witty throughout the episode. Rachel Blakely's exchanges with the actors who played Vordred and Hugo were great. She also demonstrated her softer side when begging for her friends' lives. It was a bit of a switch to see Marguerite want to help Gawain (with no ulterior motives), while Veronica was ready to abandon him.

I also really enjoyed the guest stars in this episode. Everyone was obviously having so much fun,

All in all, a great, filler episode.

I was originally shocked by this show. It didn't set well with me, but once our tree house friends got involved, I was in hog heaven (Southern slang for very happy). I guess I could say that about many of the episodes, the more the cast got involved, the more commited to the episodes I became.

How much better the Prince fell for Marguerite over Veronica. Marguerite operates through cunning and played this episode to perfection where as Veronica would have been up front. It would have been a completely different episode. Fortunately, we have Miss Crux asking for something in off white instead. She is priceless.

Although each of our characters were well formed, they would surprise us from time to time. Here Marguerite risks her neck for a young ruler that is unaware of corruption within his realm. We don't think twice when the others do it, but Marguerite?!?!?! The secondary actors played their parts well and though Vordren (is this his name?) was despicable, he was plausible. His lackey was amusing and pathetic at the same time. Prince Gawain's faithful servant was Marguerite's equal in determination. She was fun to watch as she fitted Marguerite for the wedding dress and dismissed reasoning for it's lack of place in her station.

This was an episode that did not require the reasoning of Challenger and Summerlee. It did need the cunning of Marguerite along with the actions of Roxton, Malone and Veronica. We cannot dismiss Malone's cunning as the able squire though. Over all, it was a fun episode. I had more fun the second and third time I watched it.

About the episode: Not a bad one, it has very good lines (I just love the one when Roxton and Malone saw the dragon's clues, Roxton said something like: "His foots are bigger than this sword!", and Malone answered: "Don't look at me! I'm just a squire!" Very Happy ), it has M/R moments Very Happy , but I don't understand why did they made this episode? I mean, it has nothing to deal with the plateau. But yes, we have the T-Rex (dragon) with the valuable tooth ( Very Happy ), so it probably has something to deal with the plateau. I enjoyed the show anyway.

For Xelda: I think the name of Gawain's "step-father" was Voldred, not Vordren (CAP can correct me if I'm wrong...). Oh, and one more thing: I noticed, that you wrote Miss Crux... Am I wrong, or you write it Krux (like Marguerite Krux)? Sorry if it sounds rude in some kind, I don't want to be rude, but I noticed it, and I wanted to know who's right - you or me...

P.S.: I used to many Very Happy 's...
