Just got back from seeing the movie and it was classic Speilberg/Lucas/Ford!!!

If you liked the old ones, you'll appreciate this one. However for me, Karen Allen steals the show!
I think she is the only actress that was believable when she stood up against Harrison....she's amazing. Hopefully this will springboard her acting career back into action...she's great.

Shia was very good. Great nuances and he can play the straight guy or the funny one...

Lots of fun, tons of action, special effects (well of course) but they aren't industry changing- nor were they meant to be. It is a parady of the old Saturday afternoon western classics and the old serial shows that both producer and director like to pay homage to.....also, I think they must be fans of Steven Sommers - there's definitely some references to "The Mummy" (see the show and you'll know what I mean).+

Hope you guys enjoy it too!!

If you're in the USA....enjoy Memorial Day- Remember our troops - past and present!!!
If you're outside of the USA, enjoy your weekend....for all those countries who have fought with us/beside us and even against us, I wish you all peace and love.

Okay I'm getting way too sappy, must be time for me to go to bed!!

I am so looking forward to this movie. Planning to see it Saturday. When I heard Indy and Marion were going to be reunited that just sealed it for me. HAVE to see it now.

Was not disappointed. Really enjoyed the movie although it does seem to be getting "mixed" reviews from a lot of fans on-line.

*spoilers*

Loved the nods to the other Indy movies, including a very quick look at a certain ark, the photos of both Marcus and Indy's Dad and - of course - the return of Marion Ravenwood.

I think there was something for everyone: Action, humor, a bit of romance (including a conversation where we learn that Indy and Marion were to have been married after the "Ark" but a week before their wedding he got cold feet and they called it off) and a few surprizes.

My five year old great nephew was awe-struck by the whole movie and he and his brother were huming the theme song through-out our ride home.

Well, I saw the movie last week...Indiana Jones is back, definitely! It's like seeing the first three ones, it was adventurous and very funny!

However, there are a few things I didn't like that much...

Spoiler...

[
Hidden:
I don't know if it's just me, but I thought that this movie is too short for the story - I mean everything was too fast.

Marion telling Indy of his son was so funny... and then the snake LOL

Ok back to business Wink

In the end, when the "aliens" came alive, I thought it was too much - reminded me a lot of the X-File movie... I'm not that much into aliens (except X-Files Wink ) so it's just a question of the personal taste.

My most favourite Indy movie was "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" I kinda hoped that there would be some mention, since Indy and his father both drank the water and turned immortal? or did I get it wrong? So I kinda liked the scene when Indy had a look at the photographes of Marcus and his father (so the immortal thing was wrong?)

Otherwise there was the very end - the wedding - too fast if one asks me *sigh*

That's all I remember at the moment Smile

The grail has to stay in the temple, and the seal is the boundary and price of immortality, meaning if you leave you're not immortal.

This is confirmed in how the two knights that left the temple, one never made it back and the other died of "extremely old age" and is buried in venice.

I just got home from the movies. I saw Prince Caspian and Indiana Jones. Prince Caspian was alright, but I loved Indy. That movie had so much action that, the next thing I knew, it was over. It's definitely a movie I'm willing to go to the theater and see again.

I'm with ya Kim. Prince Caspin was ok. Indy rocked the free 'verse like nothing else so far this summer. ok...Ironman rocked as much. Wink

I totally loved this Indy movie. I didn't have any problems with the

transdimenional beings (aka ALIENS) as I saw them as a nod to Close Encounters (directed by Spielberg). There were nods all over for the other Indy movies and Star Wars as well.

It was what all Indy movies have been, big fun and adventure with a wee bit o' romance tossed in. But it's mostly about the fun and adventure. I will own all 4 on DVD once they come out with the super deluxe extended director/producer cut versions of them. Laughing

Sun Krux - I whole heartedly agree with you....I just saw Iron Man and loved it too! Tons of fun...

I don't think you can beat an Indiana Jones movie but that one was right up there with Die Hard and Lethal Weapon for me...fantastic!

I liked the movie. Although, I wish it were more complex and intricate, especially since the plot dealt with...

aliens!

I think they could have done a better job if the story was a little more complete* (for lack of a better word), rather than just avoiding the whole thing by letting the...

aliens

leave the movie! I mean, I understand the "how" part of the movie, but they didn't really explain all the "why's." Certain things were left unexplained, or certain facts pushed upon you, which bothered me, but it wasn't a big deal to the main story -just me. But, as always, the action sequences were top knotch, and with a generous touch of humor -As Sassyrox previously stated, "classic Speilberg/Lucas/Ford." Either way, I might have to go see it again, because I didn't get to enjoy it as much as I wanted to...They kept the lights on! In a MOVIE HOUSE! Argh. You just can't enjoy the movie with the lights on. It was bugging me the whole time. Like a subtle itch in the back of my brain. And I left without picking up my Indy trading card Cool and small promotional popcorn bag!
