I loved what Hurley did. Poor guy just wasn't wanted by anyone. Good for him!

I love Lost. it's so good!
ok, at the end of last season I worked out this huge, long, complicated theory that Hurley is actually a leader of a Rebellion agansit Ben. Like, he's an 'other', and he is trying to take control. that's why Ben sent him back at the end of season 2, . and Micalh is going to be allied with Hurley.
remember when Ben told Micalh that he'd always been a Loyalist? (season 3 finale). that might be a clue to my theory...hmmm..anyway Hurley killed those people with the bus and he really wanted to go back to the beach with Sawyer..
Hurley also shot the flare off when Naomi landed. and then innocently says "oops." hmmm... and now he saw the cabin....maybe Jacob wants him to kill Ben.
but then his flashforward kinda screwed that up. so I don't know anymore.
oh! While they were gathered around the helicopter, I kept thinking about that scene from "Tourist Trap." It was very similar. I was expecting Kate to say "let's go. we don't need to wait..." and then Jack: "one more hour!" _________________

Okay, I've let a couple of episodes pass before commenting further but I thought the episode this week warranted a little conversation.

Did you know all along that Kate's "future" child was Aaron or did you think she had Sawyer's child all along? I loved how thy were steering us in that direction, even to the point of Jack not wanted to see Kate's little one. However, the moment I heard her say "Aaron" and my suspicions were confirmed, a whole knew train of thought came to me.
First off, of course, what happened to Claire and why is Kate now taking care of her baby? And, if Jack knows it's Aaron why does he not want to see him? Perhaps some guilt over what might have happened to Claire, either keeping her back on the island or perhaps even ending her life (and will he know Claire is his half sister by that time?)? Also, Jack said that eight of them had survived the crash. Besides the fact that a lot more than eight survived the crash, the group is known as "The Oceanic Six" so ... what is with the "eight" he mentioned? Perhaps two dying in the helicopter ride home in some way ...?
Yes, a lot of conjecture but I'm just interested in your opinions, including why Syeed became a hit man for Ben!

Jack mentioned in his testimony at Kate's trial that after the plane crashed in the ocean, 8 people had survived but 2 of them died before they got to the beach, hence, the Oceanic Six. We also know that the story Jack told isn't true, because when Kate and Jack meet up in the parking garage after Kate is set free, she mentions that Jack has told that story so many times that she's beginning to think that Jack is actually starting to believe it.
I am wondering what happened to Claire and why Kate now has Aaron. I'm also getting curious about the final member of the Oceanic Six. Where is everybody else? And what the heck is Ben doing off the island and digging a bullet out of Sayid? Like usual, Lost is giving us more questions than it answers.

Still, it makes you wonder -- why did he mention there had been 8? Why not say there was 6 survivors and leave it at that unless there was a real good reason? There must be something to that -- and boy, did Jack purger himself red in the face during the trial. _________________

As usual, one answer and a dozen questions!
I guess we are to believe that the six made it off the island but the other 30 or so (presuming that many were still alive at the time the six left) chose to remain. Seemed like Locke and Sawyer prefer to remain because they don't have much of a life off the island (and Locke might become paralyzed again).
Could Claire have asked Kate to take Aaron with her so that he could have a "real" life in the world? That doesn't answer why Jack doesn't want to see the child. If indeed it's Claire's Aaron, he's Jack's nephew.
In one of the future-casts, didn't we hear that Jack's father was still alive?
So the six are Jack, Kate, Hurley, Ben, Sayid... and who? Does Aaron count among the six?
Oh it's so annoying that we're not going to get all the promised episodes this year! _________________ "Cats are like potato chips... it's hard to have just one."

And what about Jin and Sun? Remember, she's pregnant and very anxious to get off the island because of what happens to pregnant women there.
Perhaps they are the other two? Or at least, one of them?
Hm. Not sure if Aaron would be considered part of the six ... six and a half?
Like ya said, an answer and a bunch more questions.

I don't know if they're counting Ben as one of the six. When they showed the preview for the Sayid episode, they mentioned that one more member of the Oceanic Six would be revealed, and that was Sayid. Unless Ben was able to monkey with the flight manifest, his name wouldn't be on it, and people would know that. I think that Ben got off the island some other way.
I'm waiting to see when Michael and Walt are going to show up. I think that we're supposed to see them again this season.
I was happy to hear that, because the writer's strike is over, we're going to see all of the episodes for this season. It's going to be short enough as it is.

You know, they've been airing last week's episode ahead of the new one each Thursday. I hadn't been paying any attention to that repeat, but this week I happened to tune in early--and saw that they are putting the "hints" (teasers?) at the bottom of the screen as was done in the repeat of last season's finale.
I guess I'd better start watching the weekly repeat! _________________ "Cats are like potato chips... it's hard to have just one."

I rewatched the season finale when they aired it (I have Season 3 on DVD, so I had already watched it before they re-aired it, but I noticed the thing about the hints and I didn't want to miss anything.) It really was a waste of time, in my opinion. They didn't really tell me anything I didn't already know or had already figured out. The only one with the hints that I haven't watched was last weeks with Sayid. I didn't have enough VCRs. Both of mine were already being used. But, I don't think they really give that many hints. They like to keep us in the dark. I might rewatch last week's this week, if my VCRs aren't busy again.

I notice it too but it's mostly a reminder of what we may have forgot over the last few years. Still, some times they'll throw you something fun like the funeral parlor's name is an anagram for "flash forward" etc.
I don't think Ben would be considered part of the six because he wasn't on the plane. He was already on the island. I think he got off a different way then the rest -- but WHY he left would make for an interesting story.
We shall see. _________________

According to an article in this morning's SF Chronicle, the 3 episodes we are being shorted this year will be added into the next two (final) years. That's good to know! _________________ "Cats are like potato chips... it's hard to have just one."

SPOILERS*****
Okay, so we now know that Sun will also be part of the 6 "rescued" -- and I know it's looking like curtains for poor Jin -- but could he still be back on the island? Very heartfelt episode (the forgiveness scene made a tear come to my eye) -- and there for a minute I was ready to drop kick Juliet for telling Jin that Sun had an affair -- but I guess I understand her reasoning now.
And also - tahdah! - Michael is revealed. Loved the way Sayeed played along. Don't think Desmond ever met Michael, did he? And WHERE is Walt (probably attending High School )? _________________

Chances are that Walt is being held somewhere on the island since Daddy is Ben's spy on the boat.
I still think Sun should drop kick Juliet (even if I too understand her reasoning). I think Juliet did it because she might feel guilty for the afair she had with Goodwin (which got him killed cause Ben is a eemahat). Who knows...but Juliet could have done something else. BUT then we wouldn't be talking about it right now. _________________ I like corny. I'm looking for corny in my life. - Iris - The Holiday

I am not going to read the other posts, just so I don't have anything spoiled for me. But, I finally decided to see what all the fuss about Lost was about, and watched the first season on the internet. And I must say, I became absolutely, and totally hooked! It is shameless! I am going to begin the 2nd season in the next few days before my essay binge clears up....but whole momma' I am hooked! My favourite characters by far are Charlie, Hurely, and Sun. They are both so interesting and complex in their characters!
Haha, I just thought I'd add my oar to the Lost addicted crowd! _________________ -Malones babe-
