Seeing as how Season Four starts in the U.S. this Thursday I thought this a good opportunity to start up a new Lost thread.

Anyone as anxious as me to see the new season?
Will they really be rescued?
Will Jack some how rewrite history?
Who was in that coffin in future time?
Will Sun have a healthy baby (off the isalnd?)?
And poor, poor Charlie -- how will Clare (and Hurley) cope?

These and many other questions to be answered ... :-)

I'm definitely ready for season 4. I just finished refreshing my memory by watching my season 3 DVDs. This looks like it's going to be an interesting season. Hopefully, they get to finish filming the rest of the episodes. It would not be good if all we got was half of what is already a short season.

Over the weekend I watched the last six episodes of season 3. BTW I found myself appreciating Expose, the Niki and Paulo episode, far more with this viewing. If you watch it from the POV of editing and enjoying the return of some much missed characters it's quite spectacular.

I'm really in the mood now.

I think we were to get, what? Thirteen episodes this season? Disappointed there won't be 20 to 22 but at this point I'm happy with anything.

Can you imagine if we could have got a 4rth season of TLW with thirteen episodes?
I would have gone for that in a New York (or is that an Australian?) minute. :-)

I think there was going to be 16 episodes, but they got only 8 made. Unless the strike is settled pronto, that will be it. I don't know if that would mean (provided the strike is settled in a reasonable time) 22 for next season... which was supposed to finish it, wasn't it?

I'm going to watch Wednesday when they will repeat the last episode of season 3, and I believe on Thursday there'll be a revew before the initial episode.

Hope all the Sawyer fans saw the terrific picture on the front of this week's TV Guide. Very Happy

My cover had Kate. I think it was one of those multi-character covers again.

Oh geez, the though that they wouldn't give us the remaining eight episodes this season is so harsh ... but giving the fans a whole 22 episode season isn't a bad thought either.

I bet you're right, Beckers, a multi-cover issue. I didn't look closely enough. Seems to be the only way TV Guide can make money anymore...

I suppose it's going to depend on when and if the writer's strike is settled. I had heard that we might not have a next season for any show, period, if it's not settled soon. Sad Well, I watch so little regular TV it wouldn't make that much difference, but I would like to see my few favorites.

My cover has Locke and Ben on it. I would much rather have Sawyer on the cover.

Right now, what I heard, is that the new fall season is in jeopardy, because this is the time of year that new show ideas are presented to the networks. But no one is writing any new shows. That doesn't worry me that much. It's been a couple of years since a new fall show caught my attention. I seem to be more interested in the midseason replacements. My big concern right now is whether this strike will effect the new season of The Closer. They usually start prepping in February to start filming so that the new season can premier in June.

I hope they get this strike thing figured out soon. I'm starting to get very tired of it.

Kim

Tonight is a repeat of the finale from season 3 in the U.S. According to the TV writer from the SF Chronicle, it's a "must watch" because of some extras that will be provided. Here's his column. He LIKES season 4, to say the least.

I checked out the description on my DISH review and it does say includes on-screen facts and back stories. I would have rewatched it anyway but this does make it more intriguing. :-)

BTW, I read - I think in TV Guide - that they had the first 4 episodes for preview of season 4 and their reaction was pretty much the same of this guy-- "You cannot miss these episodes". Hope they aren't steering us to a disappointment but - somehow - I don't think so. :-)

I watched the season 3 finale and it was just as powerful as when I saw it last spring. The captions were fun, interesting, and informative. Stuff I never would have caught!

I liked that Hurley's ride in the VW bus was an homage to Han Solo.

Now can't wait for tonight's premier!
