without a Trace. Former Buffy, the Vampire Slayer/Angel star James Marsters will appear on CBS' veteran Without a Trace in the recurring role of a new detective. After a one season stint on Sunday, Without a Trace is back in its original home: Thursday at 10 p.m. out of CSI.
Sci Fi Channel's Painkiller Jane, the recently launched drama based on the comic book, has been canceled after just one season. The final six episodes will air this fall.

James Marsters is also going to be appearing in an episode of Torchwood, S2. It might be the season opener, but I may be imagining that part since I can't find any reference to it. Here's a link to an article with a pic of JM and John Barrowman. Buffy star's joy at Torchwood job _________________ DNashional Archive

I wish Doctor Who and Torchwood lined up their crossover episodes like Buffy and Angel did. You could watch them back to back and they were in chronological order within their respective seasons. It's a shame Doctor Who and Torchwood do not do the same thing.
That complaint aside, Torchwood just keeps getting better. _________________ CAP...

Considering when the two shows air in the the UK vs. when they air in the US, I can't blame them for crossover timing issues. Although showing the end of DW S3 here before Torchwood aired is just confusing. That's the problem when completely different networks are carrying the shows, I suppose.
What Torchwood ep are they on? I don't get BBC America, so I'm out of the loop. _________________ DNashional Archive

DNash, BBCA just aired the second episode of Torchwood. It's fun and I believe (I could be wrong) more adult then Dr. Who. The scene between the two female characters in this past episode was steamy.
I probably am going to look to Netflix to resolve the DW3/Torchwood. Does anyone know if the Dr. Who being shown on the Scifi Channel would help (if watched) since the character Captain Jack and the formation of Torchwood started on Dr. Who? I'm out of the loop with the Sci-Fi channel... I'm embarassed to say _________________ CAP...

Yeah, Torchwood is much more adult. Doctor Who is still a family show--despite the fear forecast.
It looks like SciFi is airing the first of the last three DW S3 eps this friday. I'd recommend programming the VCR/TIVO/whatever for the three-part finale, then watch them after you've seen all of Torchwood S1. Captain Jack isn't in DW S2, but there're a fair amount of Torchwood references. It'd definitely behoove any viewers who missed S1 (the Christopher Eccleston season) to rent and watch it for more backstory of Captain Jack. Aw heck, rent and watch them all! It's good TV, and how often do we get to say that?
A little info for those who didn't know:
While filming the new DW S1, they were very concerned about getting the completed footage from Cardiff where they do most of their filming, to the BBC offices in London. In order to sneak past anyone wanting to steal the reels and scoop the return of DW by posting it online, they shipped under the code name of "Torchwood". How'd they get the name? By rearranging "Doctor Who". _________________ DNashional Archive

"Torchwood" The Ghost Machine I also enjoyed the scene with Captain Jack and Qwen. Man, that guy is captivating when he's on the screen. Oh yeah.
Nice to see more of Burn Gorman in this episode. I was fascinated by his performance as Mr. Guppy in the recent BBC adaptation of "Bleak House". _________________ CAP...

You're most welcome! You've provided so much cool Behind the Scenes TLW info that it was the least I could do.

This is the only show I've seen him on and he is outstanding. The character of Owen is really complex and well written, and he plays it brilliantly. Funny thing is, I like the character and hate him at the same time. Now that's outstanding writing/acting! _________________ DNashional Archive

DNash, I must say if anyone can take the screen away from John Barrowman, it's Burn. This past week in "Ghost Machine", he had my attention, throughout. IMHO The hallmark of a great actor is to make your feelings towards the character as complex as possible. His Mr. Guppy (I recommend Bleak House) was complex, endearing and creepy at the same time.
