According to the Wikipedia page for "The Lost World" the title influenced the TV shows title but I've noticed many many more similarities between the two. Anyone else make the connections?

Somethings I've noticed:
-The leader of an expedition that stumbled onto the plateau named Locke
-Upon first meeting Veronica she says she speaks English but her French is a little rusty...not unlike our first meeting of Rousseau?
-Many connections between Veronica and Rousseau such as they both want to get home but have lost people they love and are staying to try and find them.
-A similar difference in time between the island/plateau. Time as the characters know it is often different than what is going on.
-Conveniently finding a civilized place to live.
-The frequent appearance of ghosts and people who possibly aren't actually there.
-Each persons mysterious ties with the island/plateau.

Any other similarities? These are just a few I've noticed.

Uh, Veronica is home and has no reason to leave the Plateau. She has however lost her parents.

Don't know where the Losties get their bullets but Roxton MADE the bullets the Treehouse gang used. Wink

Aussie actor Wayne Pygram has appeared in both shows.
On Lost he was the guru that Rose went to.
On TLW he was Capt. Tark and a couple other Lizard men in "The Games".

Oh and how could I forget the strange goo Locke rubbed onto Boone's head and made him have a terrifying hallunication much like the goo Marguerite and Roxton found in the caves and made them have frightening hallunications.

I believe Rousseau actually didn't want to go back home since well there was nothing for her to go back too.

Another similarity would be Drummond, living all alone for years in a tent, re-counting iridium every day..going crazy..
and Desmond, living all alone for years in a hatch, re-entering the code every 108 min every day...going crazy...
and they both ahd the long crazy brown hair...haha.

um....the man of science and man of faith issue is in both shows (challenger v.s. alot of people) (locke v.s. alot of people/jack)

there are many other ones but I can't think of them right now.......I swear TLW inspired them some..I wish they would just admit it and be done with it RazzRazz

Instead of Making Lost why didn't they just bring back "Lost World". Of the two shows I feel TWL was the better. Only my opinion.

I know! I mean, I started watching Lost in its first couple of months, and I thought it was great, not as exciting as Lost World when I think about it now, but based on the plane crash and the plot of the mysterious island, and then the backround stories on each of the characters...it was getting interesting.
But, by the end of the second season, I was pretty much confused and "Lost" myself. There was too much going on I guess, to where if you miss one, or a couple of episodes, you don't know what's happening anymore. And the drama and story just was too much, and too long in one episode. If that makes any sense.

I like how in the Lost World, everything is much simpler, and to the point, even if it was at times too simple. Still, the feeling of adventure and constant thrills in each episode were enought for me. And there is always something in each episode leading to a new story, or contributing to a main one. For instance we see a lot of episodes that have it's own story, but also provides more information on the mysteries of the Plateau, or Veronica's parents, or something like that.
