I saw it, and I really liked it. Heath Ledger's performance is amazing. The action was good, and there was a moment in the movie that I didn't expect. I recommend seeing it.

| Im just after watching it in the theater and im in shock. I had no idea it was this good. In my opinion it was the best Batman movie hovering slightly above the original Tim Burton version and Batman Begins. I literaly cannot stop raving about how much I loved it.

That film kicked ass on so many levels. Christian Bale once again shows why he is one of the best and most sought after actors of our time. Gary Oldman shines in an understated role in which I really wanted to see more of him. Aaron Eckhardt really captured the internal struggle of the character Harvey Dent and let me just say that you need a strong stomach to look at him after he becomes "Two Face". I liked the appearance of Dr. Crane AKA Scare Crow in the film and I hope they bring him back for the third one (as well as Dent for a kind of Rogue's Gallery). Morgan Freeman could entertain me by reading the ingredient list on a cereal box and shows even more depth for his character in this film than in the last one. Maggie Gyllenhall is really not a favorite of mine and I would have preferred to see Katie Holmes. That's not to say that Maggie did a bad job, I just didn't really think she had the right look (just my 2 cents)
And finally, Heath Ledger. I have to say that I almost wept at the end of the film knowing that it was the last time I would ever get to see a new performance from such an intense, entertaining and gifted young actor. He truly became the Joker in this film. He chews up every scene he's in and as revolting as his character can be, you just want to keep seeing more and more of him. And unlike Jack Nicholson who relied on his eyebrows and voice to create a character, Heath brought so many little nuances and traits to his characterization. The voice, the way he licked his lips, the way he rolls his eyes and uses his gaze to communicate and his little mannerisms with slight twitches and serpentine slithers accompanied by a wiry kind of physical power not only overshadowed Jack's version, but sent it screaming in terror into the light of day.
I swear that I will be first in line when this film comes out on DVD!

I just returned from seeing "The Dark Knight"....all I can say is "AWESOME" all the way around. Very energetic, you never get to slow down, there are so many stories entwined that it just never lets go of your attention.
I have to agree with Shawn on Maggie- she's not my favorite either, but she's okay. I'm completely with Shawn on the Morgan Freeman description...he's just amazing.
But Heath Leger, what an amazing note to leave this world on. If he had to leave us so early, he left on one of the highest notes I could imagine. He truly deserves all of the accolades that come his way...it's so sad he won't be here to hear them...but I have a feelng he knows.
Again, Shawn nailed it describing the details in his performance that just throw it over the top. He was scary, funny, diabolical - one of the best bad guys ever.
Definitely two snaps up in a "Z" formation for this flick!!!
