And in my never humble opinion, that's the most important thing. Gettin those DVDs so you can watch the show anytime you want -- whether it's being broadcasted in you area or not! Congradts! Smile

Aside from a few autographs, one of the 2003 (I think that's the year...not taking the shirt off to look) con shirts and lots of fond memories and several of the best friends I've ever had, I have the DVDs as well. Been watching wearing them out lately. Just been in a TLW kinda mood lately. Laughing It's so lovely to be able to pop in any DVD and watch whatever eps tickles my fancy. Laughing

You must be a fan.... welcome Smile

The Collectors Edition is now being sold in the UK. So what is different? Not too much, except the last disk of the first season contains: Women and Men of The Lost World. The 2003 Convention footage featuring: Jennifer O'Dell, David Orth, Will Snow and Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens they were the creative consultants in the 2nd season and full time writers in the 3rd. Plus... 3rd season bloopers...

Enjoy and HI!

I've got DVDs and autographed pictures, tons of memories, one script, Marguerite's camisole from the end of Stone Cold and an Akubra hat signed by Will Snow (won in the last Con raffle) - oh and the entire collection of first edition santa crux fan fics Wink
And in exchange TLW has a piece of my heart.

TINGLER.. believe you have the Image set.. which doesn't have the extras. The Liberation set (which is being sold in the UK now) does have the extras. I know you can rent them......

Now for some UK reviews (this one is about the first season)

Don from Eastbourne ,

I really liked this adaptation of ‘The Lost World’ although it was obviously made on a low budget for a young audience. It reminded me of programmes I used to watch with my children such as ‘Lost in Space’ and the early years of ‘Star Trek’ - all mixed up with the ‘Tarzan’ adventures. Every episode is a complete story involving strange people and prehistoric animals, the monsters get killed but there is no blood, etc. and nothing to really terrify children.

Rent this to watch with your kids and I promise you that perhaps you will not particularly enjoy the sometimes corny dialogue or the rather primitive special effects but your pleasure will come from watching your children enjoy the story lines and amazing feats performed by the cast.

This is certainly not in the same league as programmes like ‘Lost’ or ‘24’ but it is still worth renting and I swear your children will love it.

Second Season:

The Lost World 2.0
Klysk from Wolverhampton , 20/06/2008

I started watching the Lost World when I bought a couple of DVDs that tried to snip episodes together and call them movies ('Vampire/Gladiator').

I then caught up with the series when it was shown on the Sci-Fi channel.

I finally bought the first season on Region 1 and was hooked.

If you like your series to be cheesy, the acting not great but certainly not bad, and the specials effects to be ok to poor then you'll love this.

For female fans you've got Will Snow playing John Roxton.

And for us men you've got Jennifer Odell playing Veronica (for me that's almost the main reason for watching it!)

Season 2 is as good as season 1, but one of the main characters is missing which is a bit sad!

Can't wait for season 3 (sadly the final season) to come out.

And I must point out that I can go back and watched this series again and again. While I am waiting for the next disc of season2 to come, I am watching season 1 again.

Trust me it's good TV!!

Here we go again with the third (and sadly, the final) season of The Lost World.

Once more there is crazy plots, woefull special effects and camp acting, but it's still brilliant.

2 of the main characters (due to some odd Australian acting law) dissappear, then come back, then dissappear again. There is explanations for why this happens, but I just wish they could have been in the entire series.

A new character is introduced, but the least said about that the better.

Cheers...

Have to agree with you Santa Crux.. memories. I have a few bits and bobs of Lost World memoribilia. But... the memories:

When Carolyn proposed an alternative fanfiction site then fanfiction.net. She then developed the wonderful TLWFix.com
The "Save Summerlee Campaign"
The first time I posted on a message board devoted to a show, where one of the cast was a frequent poster.
The first LW site I found: Karens http://solitaryphoenix.com/TheLostWorld.html.
When Sarah said: The Dino's have left the building.
The First emailed Treehouse News that proclaimed a Third SEASON!
The first time J&G posted.
When David posted with the help of Mr. Sinelnikoff
When Rachel posted (three times).
When Nick Jacobs (Story Editor first posted) September 19, 2001 "The Treehouse News".
When I first met California Gal, *steffi* and so many others.... on the board...
The first fanvidoe I believe was Frasers!
The first fanfiction I read was CG's "The Ball".
The first gathering
The first chatroom and the second.
The first convention
The first time I met David, Will, J&G and Jennifer
The first time I met the board members at the 2003 Convention
When *Cynthia* and Tessa mentioned to Liberty (Liberation) that the DVD's should be region free
The first Hug from David (and the only one.. *sniff* )

And that is just for starters.......................................
