| How does everybody like how the last Hood ep ended? Anybody know anything about the new show called Sanctuary on Sci Fi?

I'm not allowed to explain how I feel about how Robin Hood ended...this is a "family board" after all.
Sanctuary is an awesome show. It started out on the internet and the PTB behind it, Damion Kindler, Amanda Tapping (yes THAT Amanda Tapping) and Martin Wood (all from SG1 fame) realized to do what they would like to do with the show, they needed more money so they got a deal with SciFi and it starts in October.
Amanda is the star and an executive producer. It's the story about Helen Magnus, she's 157 and studies and helps Abnormals (monsters and other worldly/supernatural creatures). Her daughter Ashley helps and they pick up help from a few other people. There were originally 8 webisodes that they've retooled to fit into the 1 hour (aka 45 minute) show it will be on SciFi.
If you want to check it out before hand, you might be able to - for free even - by going here:
http://www.vuze.com/search?q=Sanctuary
However, you have to pay to use vuze to view the full webisodes, but it has some promos for free. I originally saw it when Sanctuaryforall.com was still up and running. You can find out more at http://www.scifi.com/sanctuary . I enjoyed it and look forward to it's retool and longer format.
The info on IMDB is incorrect I believe. They list the webisodes as Season 1 and the eps that will air on SciFi as Season 2. That is not true. The webisodes, as I said, were retooled for Scifi so the webisodes & the eps that will air on SciFi are Season 1. Season 2 has not been filmed yet to the best of my knowledge. _________________ I like corny. I'm looking for corny in my life. - Iris - The Holiday

At the risk of killing your thread I shall respond...
Apparently TPTB at RH think it's a good idea to shake things up with this particular legend. Anyway...I'll give S3 a shot, but they had better SERIOUSLY wow me (especially in light of a spoiler I tried to avoid, but got spoiled anyway, happens). Some fans are starting to say they think that S3 will be the last one. :dunno: _________________ I like corny. I'm looking for corny in my life. - Iris - The Holiday

Robin Hood:
I was very disappointed the choice TPTB made.
I watched maybe 6 or 7 episodes of S2 (and I might add was enjoying them) then I was spoiled regarding what eventually happens in 13.
I stopped watching after that. I just wasn't willing to take the journey knowing what I knew.
I think TPTB could have gone a different direction but they didn't and so be it. I expressed my opinion accordingly by taking my viewing elsewhere. I'll just enjoy my S1 DVD's as if it were a terrific mini-series.
Sanctuary:
I've been seeing the promos on Sci-fi and it looks interesting. I have no background on the show (thanks Cyn for the info) so I'm looking forward to discovering the show for the first time. _________________

Cyn -
I saw the first four eps of Sanctuary on YOUknowwhere and am hooked already.
I guess I do have a short attention span because I like the 20 minute webisode format.
The intro for Sanctuary has that SG-1 feel to it.
Good music and sweeping visuals. _________________

| Hey, changing the subject, has anyone seen the SG-1 DVDs? Are they worth buying?

If you liked the show, yeah. I don't own them because I can't afford them. _________________ I like corny. I'm looking for corny in my life. - Iris - The Holiday

It's been retooled for SciFi when it airs there. Same premise, but they've extended stuff now. I'm really looking forward to it. _________________ I like corny. I'm looking for corny in my life. - Iris - The Holiday

Actually I wasn't thinking about the series DVDs rather the DVD movies made after series. I did finally find them at our DVD place at reduced rates. Haven't bought them yet.

Oh, well in that case...I haven't seen either of the movies so I can't help you there. Sorry. _________________ I like corny. I'm looking for corny in my life. - Iris - The Holiday

| The dvd movies went directly to DV, not shown on TV or anywhere else to my knowlege. I wonder if this is a wave of the future. List price was 27.XX dollars, price now on one of them is 14.xx dollars. They have a 2008 copyright. I wonder if they made back the cost of production. Too bad TLW didn't get on the band wagon!

I know the movies were direct to DVD. As for TLW not getting on the band wagon...it would have had to have a producer/production house that CARED enough to continue the series, imho. It also needed MGM backing it. _________________ I like corny. I'm looking for corny in my life. - Iris - The Holiday

Looking forward to Sanctuary too! I got to see Amanda Tapping with long, dark brown hair at the San Diego convention! She sounds cool with an english accent! And the hair just adds to that personality she's playing. I haven't seen any eps yet (saving it for when it premieres), but when it does come out it's gonna be cool.
As for the Stargate movies I like the first one the best. The Arc of Truth isn't a really good story in itself but it resolves an important storyline from Sg-1's final season. Stargate Continuum I did like, and I think it's worth buying.
I haven't seen RH on BBC America in awhile, and I'm starting to miss it. Are they still making seasons for it? _________________ They're not mushrooms! They're jungle truffles! ~ VL
