Should a story be complete before you begin the beta process?
Are there any folks here that would be interested in doing some beta reading?
Are there any folks here that are in need of a beta reader?

I have a few more questions. I will check back after I get a little info.

Wow Bingo, impatient much? ;) I can't speak for others but with the show no longer being on air, I don't frequent here as much as I use to so really, expecting an answer 4 minutes after you posted the thread is asking a bit much. ;)

For me, personally, I always prefer finishing a fic before sending it off to my beta reader. Some people are different. I would even hazard a guess that it's something that's between the author and their beta reader.

I personally am not interested in being a beta reader as my grasp of the English language isn't as good as it should be. I know that if you use fanfiction.net they have it set up so you can search for a beta reader.

There is also a newish (at least to me) fan fiction site to post works on (sadly they have NO TLW works up yet - I plan on adding mine to the collection). http://archiveofourown.org/ - Archive of Our Own (AO3). It's a beta site and they do have a waiting list to be allowed to post fics. It took me about 4 days to get accepted. It's fairly easy to navigate and doesn't have any adds like ff.net has.

SunKrux,
I was kidding when I did 2 posts at once. The second post is more information about what I am hoping to find out. I should have put a  on it.

Thank you for the info. I will check out the new site.

Bingo32 - a  would have helped, but also putting those questions in your original post wouldn't make it appear like your attention seeking. :D

I have my one WH13 fic at AO3 and it was pretty easy to have that site move the fic from ff.net to their site. Then tweaking through AO3 is a LOT easier than tweaking at ff.net. I might eventually move all my fics to AO3 and kill my fics on ff.net. Haven't decided yet.

I think that's up to you and your beta reader. Of course, if you're working with a beta you've never worked with before, I recommend sending a completed fic that first time. It can be tough finding a beta whose style grooves with your writing style. One doesn't want a cheerleader who loves everything about everything you write, but at the same time you want someone who is supportive when presenting their critiques. Getting a "This part makes no sense." isn't nearly as helpful as "Here's the problem I have with this part...". Equally, "Fabulous!" is less useful as feedback than, "I love this bit because..."

Best of luck finding the right beta for you!
