Volume 2 Number 25

This Week

"Tourist Season"

Cell phones in The Lost World?!?

A small helicopter lands gingerly in The Lost World. Four modern-day tourists emerge from the disabled flying machine having just accidentally traveled through time. The tourists are set upon by a hostile tribe and taken prisoner. Challenger repairs the helicopter while the other explorers attempt a rescue.

Auction
Own a piece of The Lost World! We're auctioning off more exclusive show memorabilia, including Peter McCauley's autographed hat, Rachel Blakely's signed "Survivors" script, and David Orth's signed "The Games" script. Don't miss this auction!

Inside Scoop

My little cousin is obsessed with The Lost World; he really thinks he's Roxton. It got so bad that his mother only lets him "play Lost World" after he has practiced his reading. For his birthday I bought him a little Roxton hat. He wears it all the time! His mom hates it, because he refused to wear his wool winter hat when it got cold. Like a real trouper, he only wanted to wear the Roxton hat. I had to get him a pair of ear muffs to wear over his hat to appease her, though the real Roxton certainly wouldn't be caught wearing ear muffs. The Lost World is clearly for people of all ages.

Question of the Week

Which Lost World actor made a guest appearance on 90210 as David Silver's love interest?

Last Week's Answer
Marguerite paid for the expedition.

I have a question. Why this episode, as the only one, was directed by two directors?

Asked the same question of J&G. And if I remember their response correctly ..... "all the shows have two directors. One for the A or first unit and one for B shots or *second unit."

roxyboy....in the case of TS... Darryl Sheen was involved as director (first unit) along with Richard Franklin. So he received the credit. Darryl Sheen was one of the producers to TLW and according to Jeff Hayes one of the best producers (he knew the infa-structure of TLW forwards and backwards). All Jeff would have to say is "we need this production up and running (whether it be Flipper, TimeTrax or TLW)" and Darryl would provide!"

*Second Unit (IMDB terminology)

Second Unit
A small, subordinate crew responsible for filming shots of less importance, such as inserts, crowds, scenery, etc.
