The casting agent Maura Fay and her team did without doubt a great job in choosing the actors for various episode. But everybody makes mistakes. Let´s discuss right those mistakes. So, which guest star do you like the least?

You can vote for:

Jeremy Callaghan - Not for his role in Resurrection, but for his role in Under Pressure. Even J&G said Jeremy isn´t quite what they had in mind. Here's how they described him in the script in his first meeting with Veronica and Marguerite. In his twenties, not too tall but powerfully muscular, charmingly handsome, straight from the cover of a Doc Savage pulp magazine, complete with a sexy open shirt.

Simone Kessell - because I know most of you don´t like her and her character.

Brett Tucker - I don´t think a young blond guy is a good choice for demon.

Laura Whitnall - I find the actress as well as the character she plays quite annoying.

Leah Purcell - a white actress, is darkened up and plays what was supposed to be a black character.

While I don't like Voodoo Queen I have no problem with Simone Kessell as an actress. She's not half bad.

My vote went for Jeremy and I'll leave it at that so as not to offend or hurt the feelings of any of his fans here.

You know what, I misread before I voted. I thought it was FAVORITE out of the ones chosen.

I actually thought Ms. Purcell was quite wonderful in her part so I could not vote against her.

Now, for LEAST out of the bunch ... probably Jeremy Callghan not because I thought he was bad but because I just couldn't see how both Veronica and Marguerite could fall for the guy (although I agree it was more of a competition between the two) when they have the equally if not more handsome Roxton and Malone available. I believe, he really was miscast.
Danielle, despite it all, I get her. Look at that outfit. They are men, after all.

Beckers, I have changed the rules, so you can change your vote.

I don't like any of them, except Alex! :D Thought he was kinda cute ;) Of course, nothing compared to Roxton & Malone but still ... no heavy making out scenes! :!: We can't say the same about our dear Voodoo Queen and so she's a big No for me. I can't stand her and how easily Roxton fell for her. The only positive thing from that whole episode is the Voodoo Doll and what Marguerite does with it :D

But both The Imposters and Witch's Calling are episodes I don't really like so these characters are more boring to me. Although Brett Tucker ...hmmm :D Liked him! So in general, nothing against the actors but those characters and episodes weren't interesting to me.

But Voodoo Queen is the only one that makes me go waaaaahhh

Interesting question :)

If the guest star you dislike isn´t on the list, don´t hesitate and write it down!

Although I hate Witch´s Calling, I have to admit there are two things I like about it. One of them is the presence of sure Special Guest Star. The other one are Challenger´s thoughts that Dame Alice´s magic power is also some kind of electromagnetic waves. Really interesting idea. But still I wish this episode never have happened and instead of it HOTS II. would have been made.
As for "The Imposters," despite the absence of the main cast, I still like this episode as its plot was interesting and exciting. And Lara, my favorite guest star, was shinning. Maybe I´m the only one, but I really like the character of Finn. I hope you won´t kill me for that.

Hmmm there're quite some guest stars I don't like. Pierson Rice for example. But he brought back bad memories and gave M&R some very great scenes. So I'm okay with him. The same goes for Capt. Askwith. Jealous Roxton is a good one :D No, Voodoo Queen is the only one that I would really like to forget :D

And about Finn. I for one won't kill you :D I like her as well. Of course, I'd have prefered Summerlee back but Finn is cool and funny! She made me laugh several times. And her strength is to admire as well. I liked to have her there. So no killing :)

Uhm, since we're talking about Finn - she's my least favourite character/guest character in the whole series. So if we have to vote for least favourite guest star not on the list - Lara Cox. Sorry, I just never got used to her - okay, she had some funny lines, but that's all.

I've got to agree.

No offense to the actress, but I hated the tacked-on tag-along character. Never gelled with the other characters try as they might and her 'funny' line were usually corny. It would have been better without her. I would much rather have Tribune stop by every once in a while to stir up touble than be saddled with Finn.

She gets my vote for Least Favorite Guest Star.

There was nothing about the Imposters that I liked. It was a major contender for my least favorite episode.

It's interesting that the character I disliked the most...Ducart...was played by an actor I thought did a great job in an episode I found compelling.

I also really liked the actors who played the Tommies escorting Malone in BIA..They did a great job.

and then there were the actors who portrayed Chaing (SP?) and Mordrin..Boy, did they both do a great job.

As for Finn, I found the character jarring because of her being tacked on to the original group. To be fair, Lara Cox did a fine job, but she never really had a chance to meld the character into the fabric of the treehouse.

Now, regarding the guest stars which made the least impact, I'll go by the character they played since I don't know many of them by name:

1. Almost all the actors in two eps: the one with the carnivorous plant from Season Two and the one with the fruit that kept you young..at a price..from Season One.

2. All three of the characters from The Imposters.

3. The two young witches from WC..They sucked.

4. The guy from Under Pressure..The episode just didn't work for me because the premise was dumb..How could two , incredibly disparate women fall for the same guy? I don't care if it was a competition between the two, it just didn't make sense..

I guess my inability to seperate my dislike of the character from the actor in Under Pressure is the result of my general frustration with the entire show at that point in the series. With the exception of BIA and part of the Aztec one (which I turned off because I found it offensive) I never saw the show when it originally aired. I entered the Lost World approximately three years after its run ended and so, was able to watch the entire series over a relatively short period of time. That being the case, you can imagine how jarring it was to watch both relationships build slowly (but satisfyingly) throughout Season One... culimnating in BATG, only to have the entire premise abandoned (With no explanation, I might add) in the first part of Season Two. I guess this really bothered me due to the fact that, for me, the relationships between the two sets of characters was the most compelling part of the series. Radically altering this facet of the show detracted from my overall enjoyment of the show and, in my opinion, hurt viewership. IMHO, the nadir of the show was this episode (Oddly, however, it wasn't the worst episode..the two eps that tie for that honor aired during the period that the relationships were being restored..The alien one in Season Two and Witches Calling in Seaosn Three. Both of which were major wastes of time, IMHO). Fortunately, if I remember correctly, the very next ep after Under Pressure was The OutLaw, which was a fabulous ep which also resurrected the Roxton/ Marguerite relationship. Sadly, for Ned and Veronica, the process took much longer and was truncated by the cast problems in Season Three and the lack of a concluding fourth season. Still, the producers managed to advance the relationship without having the characters interact just by having Veronica utter three or four sentences in End Game and HOTS and take one action in HOTS: "I never realized how much it meant to me to have him to talk to each day" and "I told Ned we could be just friends. What was I thinking?"

Oh, and the action taken in HOTS? When the barrier failed, what was the one thing that she saved from everything that had been readied for shipment? Ned's most prized possession (which Veronica, by implication, was guarding for him), his journals. Finn even remarked on it. It was a very subtle and clever way to show how she felt..Darn shame we never got to see her return his books to Ned after he got home or see his reaction when Finn mentions him what she did when the barrier fell. I guess actions do speak louder than words.

I voted for Alecee (sp?) from Hollow Victory. She was annoying and her character was a waste, I feel.

I agree with Beckers on Jeremy

I thought it was quite funny how Marguerite and Veronica bickered over him :D That episode gave us some funny moments.

But if I could've picked least favourite guest star it would be Finn, even more than Ducart who (thankfully!) appeared only for that one episode. IMHO, she didn't fit in with the rest of the Treehouse people at all. I'm with Tina, Tauk and tud on this one.

Tauk wrote:

Hell, yes! Tribune is waaaaay better a character than Finn is. I love Tribune! :D

tud, I understand your frustration about the haphazard development of the relationships over the three seasons. When they aired it in my country, they didn't show S1 at all, began from S2 Amazons and I'm pretty sure they didn't show many episodes in the line-up. For example, I don't remember watching Voodoo Queen or Under Pressure in S2 and Fire in the Sky, Brothers in Arms and End Game in S3.

When I did get to see the entire series, I was quite put off with the way they'd handled it. I really did want to see more between N & V with the characters actually interacting with each other...

Haha, I know how that feels.. from what I remember when I was watching TLW on TV they n-e-v-e-r showed the episodes in the right order.. they always came mixed up - one day it was mid-season 1, the next time it was end of season 3, followed by an ep from season 2... :D
