I have a little question about this episode. Did Marguerite seem a little out of character in this episode, especially at the end? I don't know but I got used with Marguerite being always a fighter that knows how to protect herself without the help of a man. In the end her reaction seemed too far-fetched. I know that she was so close to dying but I don't remember seing her so glued to Roxton before.
My opinion is that the writers tried too much to save the show by creating more drama between Roxton and Marguerite, but that doesn't mean that I mind Wink Nice episode by the way! Very Happy

I'm not sure that she was particularly out of character - probably because she was so multi-dimensional. There were a few episodes where, even though she was putting on a daring charade, we got to see the inner fear and desperation behind the brave front she puts on - her seduction of Apep in The Prisoner for example or her banter with the Valkyrie-type when she was about to be sacrificed in Resurrection.
I think you are right that she was at an emotional low ebb through most of the episode - even when she was fighting with Roxton at the start she seemed on the edge of angry tears. But I think the writers had set up enough in The Outlaw, Survivors, Pirate's Curse, Man of Vision and Into the Fire to allow her an impulsive kiss after her escape from near-death. And I was quite okay with it too. Wink

Did you ever notice, that in the scene, when Blum´s saying: "DOn´t you see they headed for the portal. COme on we´ve got to stop them" there are people of the crew standing on the far right? Very Happy

LOL.. you're right. The whole thing with the group entering the place of sacrifice all the way to seeing where Olmec is hiding Marguerite is one shot. My first thought was it could be another camera, but it was clearly staged for the one long shot so I can't think of why 2 people (one with hand held in air) would be standing there.

Back to the mention of Olmec's lackey... did you recognize the actor playing the other minion Condillac? It was difficult for me to place him with all that hair, but it's Dominic Purcell of Prison Break. Embarassed Please forgive me while I drool.

I tend to think of Dominic Purcell as John Doe, and he doesn’t make me drool I’m afraid. Jerome Ehlers on the other hand… Very Happy

I loved this episode. I didn’t think Marguerite was out of character, she is a survivor and she is glad to be alive. Olmec was unnatural, she couldn’t beat him by force and she couldn’t seduce him because that was fine with him, he just wanted to kill her first. On the other hand, immortal beauty? She was tempted even though she knew it would be wrong. He was also playing on her own fears that she was simply bad, and by saving her, Roxton made all that go away.

Besides, she recovered quickly enough. Very Happy

This is one of my favorite episodes. I adore Jerome Ehlers and wish he had been in many more episodes. He was charasmatic as Tribune which is hard considering he's wearing a mask. Here he is very good as Olmec. I love that he was allowed the freedom to express himself so well.

As for Marguerite's reaction at the end, I was satisfied with her behavior. I didn't buy the note Roxton found, but could see how happy she'd be to have survived and see Roxton again. After all, she thought she'd sacrificed seeing him again just to keep their lives from becoming a sport for the travellers. She was forced to look at her greed and see it as her undoing. She voluntarily offered all her gems for Olmec to spare her life. She was aware her loyalty was always questioned and yet everyone came running to her rescue in spite of their doubts if she'd do the same for them.
