THE LOST WORLD: SEASON 4 Fanfiction

Episode 1
Heart of the Storm II: Mythology Revealed
Picking up right where the Season 3 finale left off, the Challenger Expedition finds themselves in the heart of the storm with Veronica in control of not only the entire Plateau but also the life force of all things that exist.

Episode 2
Heart of the Storm III: The Doppelgangers
Part Three of the epic Season 3 finale/Season 4 premiere story arc that plunges our heroes into another season of adventure in The Lost World.

Episode 3
Escape to Nowhere
Using their new knowledge about the lost world, Challenger devises a map that will take them through a downward cavern and off the Plateau. While Veronica leads them partially home, she is trying to decide whether or not she should stay or go all the way with them back to London. But before she can make a decision, she collapses just as Roxton, Challenger, and Marguerite step out of the cave at the base of the Plateau and into the Amazon. Now that they are finally off, Finn realizes that the only way to save Veronica is to get her back on the Plateau now. If they don’t, she will die.

Episode 4
H₂0
A devastating drought has once again engulfed the Plateau forcing the explorers to search for fresh drinking water. They follow a flock of Raptors, hoping to be led to a water source, into a valley that Veronica says the Zanga have labeled a “forbidden zone”. Overwhelmed by desperation they enter the valley anyway and come across a beautiful lake of crystal blue water. Despite the obvious warning, they all drink it except Challenger who notices that the water looks odd. His scientific curiosity gets the best of him as always and after closer examination he discovers a parasitic organism, possibly extraterrestrial, that feeds off of hosts that drink it by living in the water…the same water that everyone else just consumed.
(Author’s note: This episode is very similar to The X-Files episode, Ice. I just wanted to take the same premise and drop it in TLW)

Episode 5
The Grail
While on a hunting trip one morning, Malone crosses paths with Alexander Logan, a rival like colleague of his from The International Herald Tribune. He claims to be on a search for the mythological Holy Grail and his search has led him to the tree house. Meanwhile Roxton is attacked by a suspicious figure dressed as a ninja who was pursuing Logan. Marguerite makes a stunning connection linking both of their “guests” back to the Shanghai Zan criminal syndicate causing our heroes to realize only two things: that coincidences are impossible and that nothing is ever what it seems.

Episode 6
Tribune
When an explosion caused by gunpowder in the Zanga village goes off, Tribune is found hiding in the village and the Zanga suspect he is responsible for trying to start a Plateau wide coup’d’etat. They put him on trial which causes tension between the Zanga and the Lizard Empire that could start a war. Challenger and the others are forced to race against time to prevent massive bloodshed, which also causes Tribune to finally understand the most important of human qualities: care for others.

Episode 7
Operation Krux Syndrome - Part One
The Challenger Expedition runs into U.S. Army Lt. Riggs, and his squad of modern day American soldiers who have traveled back in time from 2005. They explain that they were on a mission to assassinate a global terrorist who escaped to the Plateau but somehow managed up in 1922. When they reveal a picture of the wanted “man”, Finn realizes its Zoth, the man responsible for the apocalyptic war in her time. Because he failed to steal Challengers atomic fission notes from before that he would have used to develop a doomsday weapon, he has come back to our world with an even more devastating plan: use Krux Syndrome, Marguerite’s plague of death that would have destroyed half the world in an alternate future.

Episode 8
Operation Krux Syndrome - Part Two
The shocking conclusion to the two-part chapter of the Challenger Expedition’s fight for the future in The Lost World.

Episode 9
Acceptance
When Roxton, Marguerite and Challenger accidentally return to the cave of fear that entrapped them three years ago, they find themselves once again encountering the terrifying events of each of their pasts that they fear the most. However this time around the outcome of their hallucinations isn’t what they expected and in fact it causes them to each finally come to terms with who they are as people and the mistakes that they have made.

Episode 10
End of the Road
The end of the road for Professor George Challenger, Lord John Roxton, Marguerite Krux, Ned Malone and Veronica Layton is finally reached as they make one last attempt to finally get off the Plateau and go home. (SERIES FINALE)
